Sonic 1 to Godot port, made fully from scratch, no sonic-like frameworks, no ready code, nothing and this project took me 6 months. To port all of this I used Sonic Retro physics guide (it's very basic and explains only the core mechanics though, but still very useful at the start), playing the game on emulator with frame advance to try to get the exact same object/enemy/tile behaviour with animation speeds and going deep in the disassembly of the game to get some weird hard-coded values. The only zones I ported are Green Hill and Marble, I can make the other four but for now that's it. Since it's not a complete recompilation it still has some very small and almost unnoticable quirks, but most of them are for the better (such as making collisions with objects less weird). I'm very proud of this project, thank you for reading and playing the game :3
